The heart of the island is carefully protected by the three cirques of Cilaos, Mafate and Salazie. These areas are best to be admired from a bird’s eye view as they are mostly hard to drive on foot or by drive. You will also fly over the Trou de Fer, one of the deepest waterfalls of the island. The Takamaka Valley is home to several cliffs and one of the longest rivers of the island. On the other hand, the Grand Étang is the remains of past volcanic activities and offers a splendid view.
